What is Scottish Country Dancing?
Scottish Country Dancing is a very sociable type of dancing for people of all ages, backgrounds, fitness and experience. It is good fun and a great way to get out, meet people and make friends. It is really good exercise so it keeps you fit and it exercises your mind as well as your body as you have to try and remember what you are supposed to be doing next! There are over 14,000 different dances, so it's difficult to learn them all but the more you dance the more you learn.
About Us
We aim to promote fellowship and friendship among members, maintain, as far as possible, the traditions and customs of Scotland, maintain links with bodies having purposes similar to the objects of the Association, assist, when possible, deserving members, Scottish and local charities and, exceptionally, national and International charities.
Dancing Sessions
We hold Dancing Sessions on Thursday evenings.
Both Members and non members are welcome to attend.
Events
We hold a number of Events and Socials each year, including our Spring Dance, St Andrew's Dance, Christmas Socials, Hogmanay, Burns Dinner Dance and Ceilidhs.
These are always great fun and often have a live band. Both Members and non members are welcome to attend.
Demonstration Team
We are only too happy to support the local community by providing demonstrations of Scottish Country Dancing at celebrations, other events, fetes and at care homes.
